How to Become a 2009 Mrs. Texas United States® Contestant

1) Review the information found on the link "Entry Information". It's designed to help you get to know what to expect.

2) Decide which titles (choose two in order of preference) you'd like to represent your city, county or regional area. (Mrs. Austin, Mrs. North Texas, Mrs. Metroplex, Mrs. DFW,  Mrs. Gulf Coast, Mrs. Rio Grande Valley, etc.) If you need ideas, let us know. Most titles are first come, first served!

3) Fill out the online form found at "Application."  After you submit it to us, you have the option by paying your $400 deposit by PayPal, or you can send a check or money order to us.  By email or regular mail, send us a simple snapshot (just used to match name to face; competition headshots will be due in the spring.)

4) When you get your official satin sash approximately 4 weeks after we receive your application, start making appearances & gathering support from your community as you compete for the Mrs. Texas United States 2009 title.

5) Trash the soda, chocolate & chips...drink plenty of water & eat lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, & lean meats. While you're at it, take a jog, join a pilates or yoga class, & do some strength training. Your swimsuit figure will thank you come April 2009!  More importantly, your health will be grateful forever.

6) Do you have a competition headshot? If not, start looking for a photographer. We can give you the contact info of our official photographer as well. We like to utilize email...you'll hear from us a lot.

7) While at your photo shoot, get a few extra shots to show everyone who you are & what you're about. You can use these pictures for your ad page. Although you get a half-page ad as a contestant, consider upgrading to at least a full page to showcase your accomplishments, photogenic & modeling qualities, personality, & of course, your gorgeous family. There's no limit to how many ads you can have in the souvenir program book.

8) We'll be doing something to help others. As a local titleholder, you have the ability to garner attention others may not be able to do. We'll be doing a fundraiser for a non-profit group. In 2007 & 2008, we were able to donate $2800 to Autism Speaks!

10) HAVE FUN! Don't ever forget what's really important in life. Remember, the best experiences for pageant contestants are those who realize that the process is far more valuable than a crown & one weekend of competition. Count your blessings & thank everyone who supports you on this journey to self-growth

We have a six-hour PAGEANT WORKSHOP  scheduled at Nordstrom's  on in Spring 2009 that is complimentary. We also have scheduled a mock interview session to help you brush up on your interview skills. More info to come when you become a contestant!
